Installation Tips

Cut off a 3 to 4 inch section of the round bead at the top of one of the edging pieces to be connected. |
Use a connecting plug that comes with the edging to join the two sections. Overlap the bottom portions of the
edging. |
Drive a steel anchoring stake through both sections at a 45 degree angle toward the turf or outside portion of
the bed. |
When using clips on any of our vinyl edgings you will make a stronger connection by using common PVC glue on the
clip and edging pieces. A few drops is all that is needed. |
These three edgings can be heated and bent to form corners or any other angles. A mini-butane torch is ideal for
this application. Practice this technique on a scrap piece. (Slim-Edg needs less heat.) |
Round top connections depend on proper insertion of the plug. After inserting plug in one end, grip the round
top with pliers, this will help achieve an even distribution of the plug between the two pieces. |
For maximum holding power, drive the stakes at a 45° angle. On V-Lip edging the stake should go just above the
V-lip. On grooved edging the stake should go through the second groove. |
Bric-Edg works better with some sand on the horizontal leg when used under the paver. This helps with leveling
the paver over the anchoring stake. Bric-Edg can also be used as landscape edging around shallow tree roots or hard areas to
trench. |
Strength of edging is important for straight lines. It also helps to start with straight pieces (It helps to dig
a straight trench) rather than rolls. Rolled poly edging is difficult to make straight. Low-end retail rolls almost always
fail in commercial work. |
