Pro Planting Tablets Specifications

Pro Planting Tablets (21 gram size - 500 Tablets) supply the nitrogen needed by most plants for up to 2 years. These tablets break down slowly through the action of soil bacteria which convert the tablet nutrients to forms that can be absorbed by the plant roots.

  • New Landscape Plantings - Container Grown Stock
    Application Rates
    1 gallon pot 20 grams total
    3 gallon pot 20 - 40 grams
    5 gallon pot 40 - 60 grams
    7 gallon pot 60 - 100 grams
    Larger size plants Use rates for established planting
  • New Landscape Plantings - Bare root or balled & burlapped
    • For each 12 to 18 inches of plant height, or spread, or for each 1/2 inch of tree trunk diameter at the base
    • Use 20 grams for slow-growing plants
    • Use 40 grams for fast-growing plants or poor soil situations
    • Method
      • Dig hole, position plant at proper level and backfill to within 6 to 8 inches of soil surface
      • Place tablet(s) beside the root ball about 1 inch from root tips. DO NOT place in the bottom of the hole
      • Continue backfilling, tamp and water
  • Established Plantings - Trees, Shrubs, Roses, Vines and Perenials of all sizes
    • For each 12 to 18 inches of plant height, or spread, or for each 1/2 inch of tree trunk diameter at the base
    • Use 20 grams for slow-growing plants
    • Use 40 grams for fast-growing plants or poor soil situations
    • Method
      • Punch holes 6 to 8 inches deep in soil around the dripline
      • Divide the recommended number of tablets among the holes
      • Insert the tablets, close the holes
